NeuroStar TMS Therapy is proven safe and effective for the treatment of major depressive disorder in adult patients who have failed to achieve satisfactory improvement from one prior antidepressant medication at or above the minimal dose and duration in the current episode. Throughout NeuroStar TMS Therapy studies, more than 10,000 active TMS treatments were safely performed with no reported systemic side effects commonly associated with antidepressant medications¹. The most common side effect associated with TMS Therapy is scalp pain or discomfort, generally mild to moderate. 

In a randomized, controlled trial, patients treated with active NeuroStar TMS Therapy experienced an average reduction in their depression symptoms of 22.1% compared to a 9% average reduction of depression symptoms in patients receiving inactive treatment.
